Behind the camera
About Joker Optics
My fascination with cameras began on the water, when a National Geographic photographer captured me riding an eFoil. Seeing an ordinary moment transformed through someone else’s lens made me want to create images of my own.
I found that passion in slow-motion videography. Much of my work follows military aviation, especially the Blue Angels, but the same curiosity takes me into wildlife, kickboxing, and anything else that becomes more revealing when time slows down.
Authenticity matters to me. I never use generative AI, Topaz, upscaling, Photoshop, masking, compositing, or visual effects to create or alter what happens in my footage. The moments you see are real events captured in-camera and presented to look the way they did in real life.
I shoot with the Freefly Ember S5K and plan to add the Pixboom Spark to my camera kit soon. I’m based in Gulf Breeze, Florida, and available for commissioned shoots, productions, and unusual ideas worth seeing in slow motion.
